If you borrow some ones quad and it brakes because they never put oil in it should u have to pay to fix it?

its going to cost $2200If you borrow some ones quad and it brakes because they never put oil in it should u have to pay to fix it?
1. Did you check the oil level before you started riding it? If yes, go to Question 2. If no, then you should have -- standard practice to ensure the engine has enough oil.

2. When you checked the oil, was it low? If yes, go to question 3. If no, then I'd say by checking it and finding it at an OK level when you started, you did due dilligance %26amp; should not be responsible.

3. If the oil was low, did you add enough to bring it up to the proper level? If yes, go to 4. If no, then you are liable because you checked it, found it was low, and didn't do anything.

4. If you checked the oil, found it was low %26amp; added some, you did everything you could/should have done %26amp; can't be expected to pay.

However, if you didn't check the oil - then you are patrially responsible.

What's a quad? Did it have an instrument panel on a dashboard? Do you know the first thing about checking for proper fuel level, oil pressure, engine temps. etc. when you FIRST START UP the engine of a vehicle? Can you PROVE that the lender of the 'quad' let you borrow it -- knowing that it didn't have proper oil lubrication? Etc. %26amp; etc.

It looks to me like you are in a position ';between a rock and a hard place';! You may have to resort to hiring a lawyer to get you 'off the hook'. You're going to be out some money any way you look at it.
Never a borrower or a lender be. that's the saying, now I know why. Take it to Judge Judy, she'll sort you out.
do u check the oil in ur car? you're lucky he didnt break ur legs! u r partly responsible.
