1983 Chevy K 10 6.2L I have oil on the driverside floor> Why? Want to fix it But dont know where it is coming

I own a shop, and a truck. The oil pressure gage has an oil line that runs from the top back of the engine to the gage. A lot of times this line is plastic, and will crack or break off right where it attaches to the gage. This line is very small as in 1/8'' and is difficult to repair. The best thing to do is; go to a parts store such as Auto Zone, and purchase a new copper line. You don't have to buy the gage just an install kit. The kit is made for this problem, and gives you everything you need to do the repair yourself. You don't even need to cut the tube, just tie up the excess tube with a wire tie, and leave plenty to move with the engine, and/or the cab of the truck. Make sure where it runs through the firewall that it goes through a grommet or some place where it can't rub the metal, as this is usually what starts them leaking. The oil in the floor will get severe if you don't fix it right away. It may not need anything but tightened up where it hooks to the gage to fix the leak, but if its anywhere else you will need to replace the line. The reason is; you can purchase a new metal line for about the same price as you can a fitting to repair the leak.

Glad to help out, good Luck!!!1983 Chevy K 10 6.2L I have oil on the driverside floor%26gt; Why? Want to fix it But dont know where it is coming

Check to see if the oil pressure line to the guage is leaking.
Is it a manual transmission? If so it may be your slave cylinder (for clutch)It may alos be your power brake booster.(just above your brake pedal.(crawl under there %26amp; have a look at both pedals) Good luck
