It would probably be cheaper to find another engine, as the parts you will need, crank bearings, crankshaft, rod and rod bearings, piston and cylinder, cam and bearings, valves etc. will add up to a LOT. You should check oil level at least once a month or so, and for an engine that is known to use a little oil should be checked every time you use it. One way, another engine. Cheaper to buy another engine as parts are real expensive plus the time to rebuild. Check some lawn mower shops. Maybe find a mower with other problems and find a good engine. Always check the oil before starting. Takes about 30 seconds!
There is no way to fix it cheap or otherwise. Find a different engine. Running out of oil is one of the most preventable things.
