I live in city north of Detroit. This am I talked with a friend who happens to deliver fuel.He and other drivers are going home early because the high prices at the pump have have slowed down sales,but he says that refineries in turn also slow down their refining process to create a shortage .Less gas available keeps the price up. also the buying and selling on the commodities market keeps the prices up.This to me smells of price fixing and needs to be investigated.Higher prices at our stores are a result of this situation.But my friend who also keep abreast of of all the election coverage said to me';but you won't see Hilary or Obama go after any oil companies because they receive donations from them?The people are speaking at the pump and have done a good job today but we need more encouragement on what we can do to help ourselves .I am 78 years old and lived during World war 11 and I remember how loyal people were then.We can be loyal again if only leaders could be truthful To usWhy haven't neither Obama or Hilary gone after the oil refineries for price fixing . We should be drilling our own oil. If we drill and supply our own oil, we aren't paying other countries to send it here. Our refineries would be flooded and jobs would abound. The left has attacked oil as if it were an enemy. Oil is good. It's is a cheap and relatively clean way to power America. The Sierra club is dictating environmental policy and people eat it up. Why can't we drill in a place that's in darkness for months at a time...a place that was set aside for oil production. Why can't the Alaskan people get the resource and the jobs they were promised by Congress? Produce our own and the cost goes down and the dollar goes up and jobs come back.Why haven't neither Obama or Hilary gone after the oil refineries for price fixing . Demand is down price up
Good question .. Why did Congress turn down a bill to rebuild our refineries ? because it came from Bush. Also it not just our oil that is make gas go up it is our refineries and the environment movement at this time they are 127 difference kind of fuel and our refineries are 30 year old they can't keep up with the demand..
If we have more refineries, there will be more competition and lower price. As of now, the few refineries can pretty much control their own destiny by ';adjusting'; supply. We need environmentalist and politicians to get off our oil industry's back so they can invest in e/p and refineries without worrying about getting beat up over the head.
';Go after';as in how. Do you think they should take up arms against the refineries? No candidate takes money directly from oil companies. This is illegal and has been illegal for about thirty years now. The refineries do not set the price of oil and they are not fixing the price.
What is that you expect Hillary and Obama do? Neither have been elected to the office of the President yet. If there is price fixing going on, it would be up to congress and the senate to investigate the allegations, which I believe they are presently doing.
I would ask ';Why hasn't Dubbya done so?';
