Most people think that it won't hurt to have an oil leak.

usually it won't hurt the engine if you make sure that it's full, but it will damage the rubber parts that it get on (softens it).But the REAL DANGER IS FIRE, the engine and exhaust gets hot and it could start the oil on fire. specially at high way speeds when there's a lot of air blow on a very hot exhaust and the oil blow back right into the exhaust system. You could keep washing the oil off your engine and carry a fire ext. in your car.

No danger as long as it is an external leak (meaning it drips onto the ground) and it isn't gushing. You just need to make sure you keep checking your oil and filling it as needed until you can get it fixed.
just keep checking your fluid level. i had a friend who used to put 1-2 quarts in his junker everyday and that thing went forever. for all you know, maybe it's just a little gasket that needs replaced like on the plug for the oil. i had that problem myself.
Well.

1. Blowing up your car and all around

2. Poisoning
