I want to no is it possible to fix a crack in an oil sump or does it have to b replaced..?

well sure ,you could always remove the sump and oil obviously and get some one to weld over the crack ,it wouldnt cost very much to do this and if you know someone with a welder (i would use gas wleding but any will do ) then it would only take a very short time .good luckI want to no is it possible to fix a crack in an oil sump or does it have to b replaced..?
Wouldn't recommend fixing it. Especially dealing with oil in any aspect, for reliability reasons, it's better to go new. Usually a J-B type of compound would fix cracks, but I think since it's oil it will eventually seep through the crack and cause the weld to fall off.I want to no is it possible to fix a crack in an oil sump or does it have to b replaced..?
if its not a really big crack take hand soap [bar] and rub hard inti crack this will seal it up till you can replace it also works for leaking gas tanks remember this is tempory repair i did this lasted 8mons without leaking
if the surrounding metal is sound you could try a chemical metal adhesive as a cheap repair
replace it-- there was a reason it cracked--the next one could be expensive.
