it depends on how much, a cup or pint wont hurt. maybe smoke a little. any more and I would drain it :(I have oil in my gas tank, will this do damage to my car and how do i fix it?
yeaI have oil in my gas tank, will this do damage to my car and how do i fix it?
HOW THE HECK DID YOU MANAGE THAT???
Oil lubricates the engine. At the worst, your car will smoke for a while. The oil will dissolve in the gas %26amp; eventually work itself out.
What year and make is your car? How did you get oil in the tank?
First, how do you know you have oil in your gas tank?
Second, how much and what kind of oil?
Third, always include year, make, model of vehicle.
Small amount of motor oil will mix with gas and burn. Larger quantity may cause exhaust to smoke. Huge amount may cause spark plugs to foul, computer to sense problems, catalytic converter to not function properly.
IF THE CAR RUNS O.K. IT WONT HURT ANYTHING,TOO MUCH OIL COULD FOUL PLUGS,BUT WONT HURT ENGINE
KEEP DILUTING THE FUEL/OIL MIX IN TANK BY ADDING FRESH FUEL UNTIL THE OIL IS EVENTUALLY GONE
BIG QUESTION THOUGH,HOW DID IT GET THERE???????
Yes, it will be damaging to your car engine, have that sericed by an expert.
How much oil ?
Not much ? ....
Ignore it, it won't hurt....
Too much ?
Drain your fuel tank...
Wont damage but a white smoke will be coming out of your exhaust system till the oil is completely gone, my advise is fill up your tank and try to use your car till you run out of gas then fill it again and it back as new...
