First you have to figure out what is leaking. Typically you do this by tracing the oil to the highest, most forward position on the engine. If you can't do this because it is too grimy or dirty, you will probably have to clean (i.e. degrease) the engine. Then drive it around a bit more and recheck.
Some of the most common places for leaks are oil filters not on properly or oil drain plug not sufficiently tight (if it's this, count your blessings!), oil pan gasket leaks (simple remove %26amp; replace), or cracked oil pan (from road damage or overtightened oil drain plug). There are oil sealing gaskets in several other places on your engine, all of them with very high degree of difficulty R%26amp;Rs.I have a 1998 Ford mustang and recently it has been dripping oil does anyone know how i can fix that myself???
