I used lemon oil to wipe my lacquered Chinese cabinet. Now the once-shiny finish is dull. How do I fix this?

i think it might have been french polished witch is a lacquer you can buy a french polish kit at diy stores witch have instructions on how to apply itI used lemon oil to wipe my lacquered Chinese cabinet. Now the once-shiny finish is dull. How do I fix this?
The simple answer is to use something to remove the polish; use VM%26amp;P naphtha, available at the hardware store. It will not affect the finish at all (you can try a small hidden area to assuage your fears). The dullness is either a residue left behind by the polish, or the polish itself, which is usually waxes dissolved in a solvent.

Afterward, just rub the finish with a baby diaper, and it will shine right up.I used lemon oil to wipe my lacquered Chinese cabinet. Now the once-shiny finish is dull. How do I fix this?
bees wax works for me
lemon oil is acidic so you hae burned off the polish. You will have to get it re-lacquered.
