Some friends and I were working on my 86F150 and someone put gas down into the oil tank. I drove it around the block and it hasn't ran since. It wont even start. I thought it was battery, sylonoid, and starter. I tried turning the engine with a torque wrench and it wont turn. Anyone know how I can fix it?I put gas in the oil tank. Now my truck won't run. How can I fix it?
The engine is seized, that is a horrible thing to do...Maybe if you drain the oil, take out all the plugs(be sure to mark the wires) and pour some light weight oil W-D or mystery oil down each cylinder let it soak for a half hour and then try turning it over by hand with a breaker bar.or tourque bar/ratchet,That might work it might not, depends how long you ran it like that.I put gas in the oil tank. Now my truck won't run. How can I fix it?
Try getting an engine flush, Ive seen it work.
Are you saying that some one put gas in the fuel tank of a diesel If that's what you mean then you need a new motor. The gas in the motor got to the pistons and locked up the motor.
The engine is seized up.Take the spark plugs out and try squirting some marvel mystery oil or either some transmission fluid into the spark plug holes. You may want to let it set up over night. The lack of oil could have made the pistons seze up in side the cyclinders.Once you let it sit up try to turn the crank shaft with a pull handle. if this does not work you are going to need to replace the engine.
you may have fuel leak into a cylinder causing a hydraulic lock try removing plugs then turning the motor over with a wrench
Yep replace the engine you just ruined. Its siezed.
A few points:
1) How does one confuse the crankcase with the fuel tank?
2) Why would you think it was the starter?
3) Why would you use a torque wrench? Why not a breaker bar?
put in a new motor or rebuild the one you have only way to fix it if its stuck
Take it apart and find out what is seized, could be many things.
bad news!! you probably seized the engine up!!.the gas thinned the oil so much that the bearings couldnt get enough lubrication,%26amp; with the heat of you driving it ,when your engine cooled it just siezed up. sorry to bring you the bad news
