buy some oil seal restorer, just add it to your engine oil.it is supposed to soften old seals (worked for me mine was crank shaft oil seal which meant taking gear box off) works on your valve guides as well. How bad is a wee oil leek on my car is it easy and cheap to fix?
Where is it leaking from? it really depends, It could be a easy cheap fix, or something much harder and more expensive. The gaskets are normally cheap and simple to change/fix, but some take a good amount of time to get to. For example if it is your rear-main seal, then the tranny, clutch, flywheel all have to be removed to get to the seal to fix the leak. the seal only costs a few dollars, but labor is well in the hundreds. Hopefully its just a oil line, but first you need to narrow down the problem, and find out where the oil is leaking, some can also be a lot more harmful then others. Once you find where the oil is leaking, then someone can tell you more exactly how hard and how much it will be. Good luck...How bad is a wee oil leek on my car is it easy and cheap to fix?
is your car a vauxhall
Frankly, depends where it's weeing from. Could be anything from a 30 second job tightening a clip to a major operation.
Depends where the leak is coming from, probably buying oil is cheaper than fixing it.
You do not say were the wee leak is , for on that depends how easy and expencive it is
fix it before it gets worse
oil costs $1.50/quart. if you loose a quart every oil change, it still only costs $6/year in actual losses. unless it costs under than to fix, don't bother. you can lessen it if it's a large leak by getting the sealer which will just expand the seals in the areas where it is leaking from but does not prevent it from leaking. From an environmental impact... it's much larger cost but fixing oil leaks is not cheap to fix if you're not doing the work.
depends how many miles the car has done, sometimes you fix one leak and if the engine is a bit tired then the oil finds another weak spot to escape from.
