WELL THERES NOTHING MUCH WE CAN DO BUT I WONDER IF WE HAD THOSE SOLAR POWERED , BATTERY OR ELECTRIC CARS, HYDROGEN FUELED VEHICLES , NOW IS THE TIME TO SELL THEM WHY HAVE THESE FUELED POLLUTION MAKING CARS RATHER THAN THOSE ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY AUTOMOBILES.What do you think about the oil/gas prices? how do u think it can be fixed?
Staying away from the politics of this as much as I can:
Current oil prices have very little to do with supply and demand of oil itself IMO. The increased price we're paying for gas and oil has a lot more to do with the US economy being in the crapper in relation to the rest of the world's - meaning that the US dollar is worth less than it used to be in the world market. Since oil must currently be purchased from OPEC in dollar currency, it is taking us (and to an extent everyone else) more dollars to buy roughly the same amount of oil that we have bought over the last 5 years.
To ';fix'; the problem, the first thing we need is leadership that has the knowledge and ';skill'; to do whatever it takes to pick up our sagging economy as a whole to make our dollar stronger in the world market. Beyond that it might help if we try to use less gas/oil as a society, but IMO why would oil companies EVER lower the price of gasoline back down below ~$3/gal again when they now KNOW we'll pay at least $3/gal for it since almost no one stopped driving or lowered their oil usage when gas went up to $3/gal?What do you think about the oil/gas prices? how do u think it can be fixed?
The market has been manipulated and the oil is being bought up by greedy little college graduates just like the housing market money was. It will hit a brick wall and the price will plummet eventually. Meanwhile, these greedy pigs can't see the wall coming, yet they are only interested in today while the world gets body slammed into the poor house and industry comes to a near halt. We are well on the way to a genuine crisis and no one seems to care enough to stop it. We were warned.
Get a bike for short trips, Use public transportation where possible, Avoid pointless trips in the car, Do not speed(a car runs most efficient at 65mph and any faster will decrease performance), Make sure your tires have the correct amount of pressure in them (this will increase mileage), Get an oil change (this will increase mileage), Doing these steps will save a lot of money on gas.
I think that the oil and gas prices are terrible, but the market not Bush control them as long as there are investors or better yet betters on he market then the price is what it is some people bet they will go up and just as many bet that they will go down that is how markets work.
there is nothing we can do about the oil prices. it is controlled by OPEC. but we can do something in our own level... that is try saving gas: carpooling, lite acceleration, planned trips, etc...
I think the rise in oil/gas is rediculous and Bush needs to be assasinated for his inability to stop it.
yes im serious
sucks and no theres not much anyone can do but dont buy gas.. and you know thats not going to happen... but doing anything to save a gallon would help some

1995 ford bronco leaking oil between transmission and motor. what can it be? how can it be fixed? thanx?
Common.
Most probably its the rear main seal of the motor.
Big job to fix, time wise. You need to split the box from the motor, and depending if its a rope seal, or a rubber seal, depends on what else you need to do.
If its a rope seal, you need to pull the crank out, as there is a pin that holds the seal in place, and you cant install the seal without pulling the crank.
If its a rubber seal, you can remove and instal the new seal with the motor in place,
Either pretend its not there, top up your oil and throw a stop leak into the motor, or do the job.1995 ford bronco leaking oil between transmission and motor. what can it be? how can it be fixed? thanx?
If oil is leaking between the engine and transmission most commonly it is the rear main seal. This seal is the very last crankshaft main bearing seal and is common to leak on any type of vehicle after extended mileage.
The only way to fix the rear main seal on a Bronco is to remove the transmission (which also requires removing exhaust components, the starter and a crossmember). The task of removing the transmission is not very difficult when you have the right tools and have access to a lift. Otherwise, it can get tricky when you are doing it in your driveway, but doable nonetheless.
If your Bronco is 5.0 or 5.8 the job is relatively the same. The only difference is going to be weather or not you have an automatic trans or a stick. If its an auto, just remember to remove the flywheel-to-torque converter nuts and keep the torque converter in the transmission. This will allow for easier installation after it is removed and you won't have to re-index the torque converter before you put it back in.
If after all this it sounds like a job you want to take on, then just be sure not to damage the area where the seal sets. Any burs, debris or irregularites in the metal will negate the entire job and you will be doing it again because it WILL leak. Be careful when removing the old seal not damge the crank or again, like I said, you will be doing the job again.
I hope you can fix the leak, good luck!1995 ford bronco leaking oil between transmission and motor. what can it be? how can it be fixed? thanx?
Transmission fluid or Engine oil? Red or Brown? If it's red, then perhaps the front pump seal or input shaft seal on the trans. If it's brown then I would suspect the engine rear main seal. Any of those seals are pretty pricey to replace-maybe a bottle of sealer instead. Good Luck
If it's motor oil it's the rear engine seal or possible the oil pan. If it's transmission fluid it's probably the torque converter seal or the transmission seal. All are a pretty expensive fix.
It is a rear main seal that is leaking. It can be found at any auto retail shop. The one for that truck ranges from $10 - $26 dollars.
I believe theres a seal between the two and it sounds like its the problem. The seal is not expensive, but the labour is.
its the seal of the oil pan or the crank shaft about the same... tough to fix sometimes.... and best if had done at a shop
rear main seal , drop trans and replace seal.

Since OPEC fixes floor prices for crude oils they sell us,why don't we fix prices for the goods we sell them?
We sell or provide them foods, cars, weapons, construction machinery, places to party without prudishness, booze%26amp; entertainment outside their strict islamic fiefdoms and traditions, all the luxuries of modern society, and a military defense that keeps the sheiks on top to boot --everything but the crude oils which they already have in abundance and love to export under short term contracts. And we do this all gladly even though we and our GOVERNMENT and our OIL COMPANIES know that they, the OPEC Cartel of state-owned National Oil Companies, are fixing the prices of our petroleum products which we refine their crude oils purchased at non-free market determined FIXED PRICES.

Nice point. knowing they were chowing down on $50/pound chicken would make paying $3/gallon for gas more palatable.Since OPEC fixes floor prices for crude oils they sell us,why don't we fix prices for the goods we sell them?
Because the UN would cry foul. You just have to face facts that the rest of the world hates us because we are free.
we could, but the fact is they don't fix the price, so much as it is bid for.......ad China needs more oil now, so the price goes up....and with the wars, the fact that oil may turn up to be a precious commodity, the bidding goes higher.....plus, it takes all 8 countries....I think it is 8.....to settle on the minimum price.....anywa, it is not as easy as saying....okay, we will charge 78 dollars for it today.....there is much more involved.....

Hole above oil pan....can it be fixed?
Ok, on Friday I was traveling down I-44 and I lost oil pressure, I pulled over and discovered that I had oil leaking all over the road. I had it towed back to my house, where I discovered this hole. It's not in the oil pan, but right above it. You can view a picture of it via the link below. Can it be fixed?

Interesting situation, I've only seen something like this one other time in my career as a shop owner. In short...sure, it can be fixed, anything can be fixed. The real question is whether it's going to be worth it in the long run.
It's not something you can slap some JB Weld over and hope for the best, although I'm sure many have tried and failed. The only correct way to go about repairing the block is going to be to remove the engine. At very least drop the pan but a true reliable fix would require pulling the block...if anyone tells you different they're full of *#%26amp;$.
Once the engine is pulled the cause of the hole has to be determined, it's possible but VERY unlikely that something came up off the road and caused the damage. It's more likely that something broke (possibly an oil pump gear) and smashed through the block from the inside. The damage most likely goes way beyond what you can see, this of course can only be determined by pulling the engine and doing an inspection.
If you're lucky and the only damage is the hole a machine shop can repair it. Most likely however the hole is the least of your problems, if a pump gear came loose, etc there's a good chance it caused internal damage. The loss of oil pressure and loss of oil probably caused a good deal of damage as well...when you lost oil pressure the valves, bearings, etc all stopped receiving the lubrication needed, and considering you were on the highway there's a high chance you've got rod bearing damage at very least.
With that said you need to decide how much it's worth...if the car has over 100k miles and is several years old it's probably not going to be worth the cost of repair. You could be looking at a price tag well into the $3500 range, possibly more.
If you're unsure then find someone willing to just patch the hole, they'll most likely drop the pan, patch the hole, and hope for the best. You may get lucky and the problem could be fixed for a few hundred bucks.
In all of my years of service I've never seen anything like this that didn't turn out for the worse when trying to cut corners. So...get a cheap fix done, fill her up with oil and hope, get the motor pulled, inspected, and repaired properly, buy a salvage block if necessary, or scrap the car.
Without actually seeing the car in person it's impossible for me to give you a precise diagnosis. A real time mechanic should be able to give you your options fairly quickly....if they tell you it's going to take a few days just to diagnose the cause you're most likely being taken for a ride. Pulling the pan and inspecting the rod caps, etc will give a wealth of knowledge.
Hope this helps!Hole above oil pan....can it be fixed?
Patching the hole is the simple part of your problem. Looking at the picture I see a broken connecting rod. You will have to remove the engine, disassemble and find out what happened and how extensive the damage is. It will likely cost as much to repair it as replace it.
that,s on the block. this is just a guess and i don,t know if it will work or not but get a piece of flat iron and see if someone can weld it over the hole.
Yes it can simply order a good low mile used engine from LKQonline.com and install it. I'm sure you heard a small clatter
type noise when it started leaking oil. That my friend is an aerated
Bock.
WOW, that is a problem. No easy fix. Your best bet would be to get a junk yard motor with low miles if possible. That block is shot.
You'll need to replace the motor
your kidding right??LOL..you need a new motor...no repair none..no way..no how,,,

Would getting oil changed, and alignment (headlights fixed also) result in CHECK ENG. LIGHT coming on? ?
I am almost 50-60 miles out of getting my car worked on. I had an alignment done, my oil changed, and I believe that they tried to wash off part of my engine to see where an oil leak was coming from. The shop is supposed to be checkign the oil leak this weekend, when they do my breaks.......
So 50-60 miles running, out of the shop, (Got it back late Sat. afternoon, and monday night the check engine light came on)....... What could this be? could anything the shop did, make that have come on? Or is there yet soemthing ELSE wrong with my car that should get fixed?Would getting oil changed, and alignment (headlights fixed also) result in CHECK ENG. LIGHT coming on? ?
Have them scan for codes before you do the other work. The sooner the better.Would getting oil changed, and alignment (headlights fixed also) result in CHECK ENG. LIGHT coming on? ?
first chech at the drain plug of the engine and see whether there is any lekage or not , secondly chech for the correct positioning of the engine oil filter and also check for the pressure of the oil inside the engine.
finally chech the compression inside the engine cylinder.gold eyeshadow

Trans oil mixing with antifreeze, until this problem is fixed , can i drive the car , 96 maxima?
car needs a radiator , trans oil mixing with antifreeze, is it safe to drive the car until i change the radiator and when i do , do i need to change trans fluid and flush engine?Trans oil mixing with antifreeze, until this problem is fixed , can i drive the car , 96 maxima?
How are you getting transmission oil in your radiator?Trans oil mixing with antifreeze, until this problem is fixed , can i drive the car , 96 maxima?
Do not drive this car until the radatior is replaced and as I said before expect to be walking soon. the cooling system does not like antifreeze and the transmission does not like coolant. After market radatiors cost only 175 dollars and a person with mimium tools can replace it. A new transmission costs $3,000 installed.
The more you drive the more damage it does. If you go to far you may need trans work at that can be expensive. I would flush the engine and do a trans service when you change the radiator.
Any vehicle with this problem should be parked immediately- unless your goal is to fry engine%26amp;transmission. You will have to flush both tranny%26amp;engine completely after repairs. I would also trace each line %26amp; hose for integrity.
If your radiator is ok otherwise go to a radiator shop and have it repaired, no need for a complete radiator.
Absolutely. When all the transmission fluid is in the radiator and you are stuck in the middle of traffic, call me for the tow.
Seriously, of course not. If transmission fluid is getting in the radiator, antifreeze is also getting in the transmission, and they aren't designed to run on water. Now perhaps all you need is a radiator. Keep driving and you will need a very expensive transmission also.
I would'nt, all you hoses will turn to swelled mush.
No
Well let's think here for a minute. hm..if you have transmission oil mixing into your antifreeze, it goes to figure that you have antifreeze in your transmission. need I say more?
New radiators are less than $200 + labor. Get it replaced NOW!!
I would advise against driving it. The coolant will contaminate the transmission bearings/clutches/solenoids, etc. The lines going from the trans to the radiator are low pressure return lines so when the engine heats up and the coolant system builds pressure, it will push the coolant into the transmissions cooling system and into the transmission. Not the best of things to happen.
